The root of bonsai - How did it start?

Bonsai started as " bonkei " ("盆景") Tang Dynasty (618–907) in China, and first arrived to Japan in Heian Period.

During Kamakura period, mostly bonsai was popular as noble hobby among Zen priests (monks).

At around Edo period the nobility such as samurai started to enjoy bonsai and even as their side business thus many techniques and knowledge were established. The art of a tree growing in a pot was already called "bonsai" at this time and developed and established its own culture , which is called "BONSAI" in the world now.

Bonsai was born in China and Grew up in Japan and now 5 million+ people are enjoying the art all over the world!
